As part of our college program KAGC U, we hosted a discussion with students at Northwestern University on the history of the Korean American community and its civic engagement effort on May 9, 2018.

Professor Ji-Yeon Yuh, a longtime activist and founding faculty member of NU Asian American Studies Program, shared with us the background of the 1992 L.A. civil unrest and through its lens the place we occupy as Korean Americans in our society.

We hope the discussion helped bolster the inspiration our student partners draw in leading civic engagement initiatives both on and off the campus beyond cultural and social events.
