On April 7th, KAGC hosted “KAGC U: UIUC” in collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Korean American Student Association (UIUC KASA).

Despite the harsh weather, the dedicated student volunteers were able to assist 34 first-time voters to register! Most of the students who registered this day were Korean American, which goes to show that the Asian American students at UIUC needed more information and engagement; an issue UIUC KASA is determined to address by furthering its on-campus civic engagement initiative, with the support of KAGC.

In the evening, we were joined by over 30 Korean American students to discuss our community work of grassroots civic engagement through the Korean American perspective.

We look forward to welcoming the passionate students from Illinois to the 2016 KAGC U, the first-ever national conference for Korean American college students. Visit https://KAGC.us/u for more information and registration.
