As a non-profit dedicated to assist active civic participation, KAGC provides key information on the upcoming elections. Please be advised that due to the public health crisis, changes have been made in several primary elections in most states. Below is the up-to-date information on the elections in states with a large Korean American population in June, 2020.

Tuesday, June 2

District of Columbia

  • Primary election for Presidential election
  • Deadline for voter registration: May 12, 2020. Same-day registration available with proof of residence in person.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available, if requested by May 26, 2020. The voted ballot must be sent on or before Election Day and arrive within 7 days after Election Day. Requests for mail-in ballots must be received no later than the 7th day before each election.

Maryland

  • Primary election for Presidential election and state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: May 27, 2020.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available for all. For the June primary elections, all registered and eligible voters in Maryland will automatically receive a ballot in the mail. The voted ballot must be posted marked or dropped off in designated boxes on or before Election Day. In-person voting is also available on Election Day.

Pennsylvania

  • Primary election for Presidential election and state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: May 18, 2020.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available, if requested by May 26, 2020. The voted ballot must arrive at the Board of Elections by 8pm on June 2, 2020. In Allegheny, Dauphin, Delaware, Erie, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties, the ballot may be returned by 5pm on June 9, 2020.

Tuesday, June 9

Georgia

  • Primary election for Presidential election and state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: May 11, 2020.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available, if requested by May 7, 2020. The voted ballot must arrive at the Board of Elections by 8pm on June 9, 2020.

Nevada

  • Primary election for state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: May 12, 2020 by mail or in-person. June 4, 2020 by online.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available for all. For the June primary elections, all active registered voters in Nevada will receive a mail-in ballot. The voted ballot must arrive at the Board of Elections by June 9. In-person voting is available only for Washoe County residents.

Tuesday, June 23

New York

  • Primary election for Presidential election, U.S. House of Representatives, and state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: May 29, 2020.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available for all. For the June primary elections, all active registered voters in New York will receive a mail-in ballot. The voted ballot must arrive at the Board of Elections by 9pm on June 23. In-person voting is also available on Election Day.

Virginia

  • Primary election for state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: June 1, 2020.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available, if requested by June 16. The voted ballot must arrive at the Board of Election by 7pm on June 23. Click here to request for an absentee ballot.

Tuesday, June 30

Colorado

  • Primary election for state-level positions
  • Deadline for voter registration: June 22, 2020. Click here to register to vote in Colorado.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available for all. All elections in Colorado are automatically conducted by mail.

New Jersey: June 16

  • Primary election for Presidential election, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, state-level positions, and party delegates takes place on July 7, 2020.
  • Deadline for voter registration: June 16, 2020. Click here to download the voter registration form.
  • Absentee Ballot or Vote-by-Mail: Available, if requested by June 30. For the June primary elections, all registered voters in New Jersey will receive an application for a mail-in ballot. Upon submitting the application, the voter will receive a mail-in ballot, which must be postmarked or submitted in person by July 7. In-person voting is also available on Election Day.
