KAGC collaborated on a regional seminar with the Korean American Community of Metro Detroit in Detroit. Our Executive Director Mr. Song discussed the importance of grassroots movements and civic engagement as citizens. Additionally, KAGC provided a briefing on Korean American policy priorities and internship opportunities.
In 2023, KAGC hosted 1 regional seminar in Alabama in order to help its local community partners develop and implement civic education and voter registration programs, as well as to better coordinate the Korean American community’s advocacy efforts on the national level.
KAGC hosted a regional seminar with the Korea Corner at Huntsville, a partner organization of KAGC. Team KAGC discussed the issues that Korean Americans must consider while living in the United States, emphasizing the importance of civic engagement. Additionally, KAGC provided a briefing on Korean American policy priorities.

KAGC hosted a regional seminar with the Korea Corner at Auburn University, a partner organization of KAGC. Team KAGC presented our work, provided an overview of Korean American policy priorities, and engaged in discussions centered around the following questions: “Why is it important for us to contribute to the relationship between the U.S. and Korea, even though we reside in the U.S.? Why should we dedicate ourselves to active civic engagement?”

Team KAGC shared our work, briefed on the Korean American policy priorities, and discussed the importance of civic engagement in our community in the home of the fastest growing Korean American population.

In 2019, KAGC hosted 9 regional seminars throughout the nation in order to help its local community partners develop and implement civic education and voter registration programs, as well as to better coordinate the Korean American community’s advocacy efforts on the national level.
KAGC hosted a workshop on the Korean American identity at New York University. Under its college program KAGC U, 40 students from across NYC, including midshipmen from the U.S. Naval Academy, participated in a lecture on the history of the Korean American community, panel discussion with civic role models, and a group discussion on their experience as children of immigrants and as a minority.
KAGC hosted its seventh KAGC local seminar in Seattle, WA, in collaboration with our partner organization Korean American Coalition – Washington. Throughout the two days of the seminar, over 90 community members in all age groups and professions including elected officials, community leaders and students attended.
KAGC hosted its fifth KAGC local seminar in Auburn, AL, in collaboration with our partner organization Korea Corner at Auburn University. This was KAGC’s first year hosting a local seminar in Alabama, and over 100 community members in all age groups attended.
Hosted in collaboration with the Korean American Federation of Orange County, this year’s regional seminar served as a platform for discussion on the U.S.-South Korea alliance, promoting peace on the Korean Peninsula, and how to support diverse Korean American communities.
The second community event on grassroots civic engagement in the area, the KAGC Regional Conference in San Diego was hosted in collaboration with the San Diego Korean Pungmul Institute.
With the Korean American Federation of Los Angeles, KAGC hosted its local seminar in the area sharing an analysis of the Korean American electorate in Southern California to the policy priorities of our community, from the Korean American history to the roles of various levels of government, a wide range of topics was covered in relation to the current issues in the local community.
Hosted in collaboration with Korean American Civic Empowerment and Leadership in Houston, this year’s regional conference included a discussion on the changing landscape in Washington, D.C., the importance of civic engagement by our community, our analysis of the Korean American electorate in Texas, as well as the recent events surrounding language minorities’ access to poll sites in the state.

A first community event on grassroots civic engagement in the area, the KAGC Regional Conference in San Diego was hosted in collaboration with the San Diego Korean Pungmul Institute.
In collaboration with Korean American Coalition-Washington, this year’s seminar covered the means of grassroots activism, local elections in the Puget Sound area, and Korean American policy priorities.
Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE) hosted this year’s KAGC regional seminar in New York City with 100 community members and partners from New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut in attendance.
With 100 community members and high school students in greater Dallas-Fort Worth, KAGC shared its vision, programs, and approach with the support of the Korean Society of Dallas.
