Why Should I Vote?
▹  Historically, Asian American voter turnout has trailed that of other racial and ethnic groups in the United States. Even among college-educated voters, Asian American turnout has lagged behind that of White, Black, and Hispanic voters.
▹  However, voter turnout among Asian Americans increased significantly from 49% in 2016 to nearly 60% in 2020, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. The Asian American electorate also continues to grow. According to a 2026 Pew Research Center analysis based on U.S. Census Bureau data, approximately 13.7 million Asian Americans are eligible to vote in 2026, an increase of about 2.3 million, or 20%, since the 2022 midterm elections. Asian Americans are the fastest-growing racial or ethnic group of eligible voters during this period.
What is a Midterm Election?
▹ Midterm elections are held every two years, midway through a president’s four-year term. All 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives are up for election, along with approximately one-third of the 100 seats in the U.S. Senate. This is because House members serve two-year terms, while senators serve six-year terms.
Your Vote Matters.
▹ Your vote is one of the most direct ways for you, as a U.S. citizen, to participate in the democratic process. The officials you elect make decisions on legislation and public policy that affect your community and your daily life. By registering and voting, you can make sure your voice is part of that process.
